The nose is a very important part of the face. Disproportion in any of its parts will result in deformity to some degree. Being the focal point of the patient’s face, a misshapen nose is often an object of great insecurity for an individual.
Recent improvements in our understanding of the normal anatomy of the nose have allowed us to produce much more natural, esthetic results, individually tailored to the patient’s facial structure, in sharp contrast to the “assembly-line tweaked up nose” of the past.
This very popular surgery has now improved to the point of actually being a scar-less operation in the great majority of cases. This is because, in most cases, the surgery is performed from inside the nose via the nostrils.
The surgery is performed in our private clinic, under general anesthesia. It usually takes about 1½ hours to complete and there is then a stay of about 2 hours in our recovery room until the patient is fully awake.
Usually, bruising around the eyes and swelling on the nose could last from 7 to10 days. There is a slight to moderate degree of discomfort, which usually lasts only the first couple of days. The final result may not be apparent until 6 to 12 months following nose surgery although a gradual improvement starts to show at about a month after the surgery.
The results are very natural looking to the point that even persons in your immediate entourage might not notice that your nose was corrected although they will wonder “why you look so good”!
