Liposculpture can be used (in both men and women) to reshape such areas as the neck, arms, breasts, abdomen, buttocks, and as well, thighs, hips, knees and calves.
It is important to note, however, that liposuction should not be considered a substitute for proper diet and exercise nor as a cure for obesity. It is specifically designed to remove localized fat deposits from a person who is generally within normal range of his/her ideal weight. It should also not be considered a treatment for skin dimpling, otherwise known as cellulite.
The best candidates are patients that are close to their ideal weight (usually no more that 10-15 lbs.) but have very localized fat deposits that no diet or exercise can correct.
The surgery is performed usually under local anesthesia in our private surgical clinic. It usually takes about 1 to 2 hours to complete depending on the areas to be done and the patient can have his or her discharge about one hour after the end of the surgery, following a stay in the recovery room.
